DAY 1 - WELCOME - INDEPENDENT VISIT OF ASSISI

Arrival in Umbria and accommodation in a farmhouse/3* hotel. Free lunch and independent visit of Assisi.

Pax et Bonum! This is the greeting with which Assisi welcomes you, a Franciscan place par excellence, not only in Umbria and Italy, but throughout the world. In fact, St. Francis was born in Assisi in 1182; in the place where his birthplace is believed to have been located, today stands the New Church. It is in Assisi that he is baptized, in the Cathedral of San Rufino, it is among its alleys that he spends his youth dreaming of a future as a valiant knight, it is here, where today the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore is located, in Piazza del Vescovado, that strip by repudiating earthly goods for the love of God and brothers. It is still in Assisi, in the Church of San Damiano, that praying in front of the crucifix, he receives the task of renewing the Church of Christ, it is in the town square that he begins his preaching and his work of charity and peace, and finally here who died in 1226. His remains are kept in the Basilica of San Francesco, but the saint still lives today in every stone of Assisi. Walk through its enchanting alleys and free visit to the Franciscan places. Audio guide can be rented inside the Basilica of San Francesco.

8.30 pm - Rich welcome dinner at a restaurant/farmhouse selected by us for the quality of the food as well as for the perfect representation of the Umbrian culinary tradition - drinks included.

DAY 2 - CARRIAGE RIDE THROUGH THE VINEYARDS WITH VISIT TO THE WINERY AND TASTING

FREE VISIT OF SPELLO IN THE AFTERNOON

This morning we will take a carefree ride in a carriage to discover the biological philosophy of the vineyards; an experience that combines the charm of rural life of the past with the modern organic conscience based on the production of high quality food in full respect of natural resources. We will take a beautiful walk of about 45 minutes through the vineyards and then we will move to the cellar of this farm and we will discover the secrets of their winemaking tradition. At the end of the visit we will be able to taste excellent organic wines produced on site and other typical Umbrian products. Enjoy your meal!

Free visit of Spello in the afternoon (recommended visit).

The Consular Gate marks the entrance to the city of Spello or, as Julius Caesar called it, the "Splendidissima Colonia Julia", an enchanting village of Roman origin, counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy, thanks to its environmental wealth, cultural heritage and artistic. Spello still retains traces of its historical past with the ancient walls and the Towers of Properzio which protect Porta Venere, another access point to the town. The church of Santa Maria Maggiore can be reached by walking through suggestive alleys and ancient streets, along which flowered balconies overlook and which, over time, have become true symbols of the city, and still remain one of the most coveted. The church holds an artistic treasure inside: the Baglioni Chapel, with a Deruta majolica floor and frescoes by Pinturicchio. Spello also boasts a very rich art gallery and, just outside the walls, a wonderful museum complex known as the "Villa Dei Mosaici", which has brought to light 500 square meters of precious mosaics whose central theme is the grape harvest and wine.
