Further information

Perugia, the capital of the Umbria region, is worth a visit not only for the beauty of its hillside location, but also for its beautiful old buildings.

Before coming under Roman rule, ancient Perusia was one of the twelve cities of the Etruscan federation and considerable sections of the Etruscan wall, which extended 2,800 meters around the town, have been preserved. Perugia is known in the art world as the center of the Umbrian School of Painting in the 15th and 16th centuries and its greatest exponents, Pietro Vannucci (called Perugino) and Bernardino Betti (called Pinturicchio) worked here. The young Raphael worked in Perugino's studio until 1504. You will find works by all three in Perugia's churches and public buildings.

In the morning, we will meet our local guide who will accompany us on an interesting guided visit to Perugia, the capital city of Umbria, in order to discover the most important monuments and sites of interest of the city. Starting from Piazza Partigiani, we will start getting in touch with the history of the city, by going through Rocca Paolina, discovering an underground city that will fascinate us. Proceeding by Piazza Italia, we will walk along Corso Vannucci, the main street of the historical center and we will visit Piazza Italia, Piazza IV Novembre, Fontana Maggiore, Palazzo dei Priori, il Duomo until we reach the Etruscan Arch, the entrance to the city.

After the visit, we will reach a local restaurant for a delicious Umbrian lunch - drinks included.
